What do the stats represent?
ShowHide

We have provided the breeding and economic values which we think are most relevant. Charollais do not have a fat problem. We have provided both the TSM and the DPM values, rams that rank higher for DPM and lower for TSM will be carrying more fat.

  • TSM - Terminal Sire Muscle is an economic index and includes a deduction for fat over the loin.
  • DPM- Dual Purpose Muscle is an economic index and differs from TSM in that no penalty is applied for fat ie it is a reflection of pure muscle.
  • LeanBV - Is the Lean Meat Breeding Value with no penalty for fat.
  • TSG - Terminal Sire Growth rate is an economic index and is a combination of the weaning weight EBV and carcass Weight EBV (19 kg carcass)
  • WWT BV - Weaning Weight Breeding Value and is a good reflection of early growth rate.
